Rionero, As It Actually Looks

Every one of the photos below was taken by my cousin Michele Volonnino — who is respectfully referred to as “The Mayor” by his American family who's spent time in Rionero with him - is the same Michele who tracked down the vintage watch that will become “The Melfi,” named for the town where he found it — part of our second wave of releases. He knows Rionero better than I ever will, and it shows in how he captures it in pictures.

I can describe Rionero in copy all day — my family's hometown, 110 miles from Vieste, the volcanic highlands of Basilicata — but none of that tells you what the place actually looks like at the end of a summer day.

This is the town the watches are named for. Not a mood board, not a stock photo — the actual place, shot by the actual family who still lives there.
